When I heard the thunder storms the night before Gary & Laura's wedding I thought we were in for an interesting day!! Luckily the rain had stopped by the morning but the wet ground meant that the ceremony would be held inside. As it turns out the ceremony room at Bannatyne Hotel in Darlington is just a gorgeous as the outside setting, I just love the chandeliers and twinkly lights in the background. Infact the whole building has such character that makes for great wedding pics.
When Gary & Laura put their trust in me to be there wedding photographer they also asked me to be an usher, this meant I started the day at Gary's shooting the boys while my second shooter Chris Thornton was doing his usual top class job of shooting the girls, thanks Chris :-). It wasn't just the girls that were preening each other, check out the picture of Darren taking care of Turner's nose hairs........ OUCH!!
By 11am the beers and laughter were flowing, well at least one of those were flowing for Gary's nervous best man Hughesy, he'd been dreading his speech since the day he was asked, read on to see how he got on........
The ceremony brought plenty of tears especially from Gary's mum, Lynne, who's been waiting for this day for 36 years :-)
After the ceremony we nipped down to South Park, in a rather nice Bentley, for a few shots of Gary & Laura. I'm pretty sure Gary was just as excited about the Bentley as getting married!!
When we got back up to the venue it was time for the speeches. Laura's brother Andy did a great speech and even revealed a few 'dodgy' secrets about her past, the look on her mum's face was priceless. By the time Hughesy's speech arrived there were a few empty shot glasses on the top table!! It was a shaky start but once his trousers came down the laughter was unstoppable.
Over the course of the afternoon I grabbed a few night shots of Gary & Laura using some off camera flash. After that we headed back inside to bust some moves!!
The night was finished off with something a little bit different where we utilised some light trails from the passing cars outside the hotel.
Congratulations you guys and thanks again for putting your trust in me :-)
